Having lived in San Diego for the last 15 years, experiencing fresh powdery snowfall is a treat! And it rarely snows in Shelton, so I was super excited to capture some videos and pictures of the winter wonderland at PURR to share.
Beyond its beauty and serenity, the snow gave me a sort of x-ray vision of PURR. I realized there are a lot of wild animals that stealthily roam around the property in plain daylight, normally unseen by me. Their tracks in the snow gave them away. Some of the foot prints came up to the front door, as if the critters were looking in, to see if PURR was opened.
At times, I felt like I was running a ski lodge, as I had to shovel snow to clear up the driveway. Luckily I had some help. Tommy, a PURR club member dropped by to help with the PURRADOME construction. He rigged up a couple of pallets and dragged it behind his truck as a makeshift plow. I appreciate the help as well as his ingenuity.
While most of experience was light, fun and magical, there were a couple of mishaps in the form of collapsed carports. Honestly, living in the snow is a lot of work, and I wouldn't want to do this for more than a few days in a year. I definitely enjoyed the beauty, serenity, and overall magical experience of PURR transforming into a winter wonderland... hopefully, just once every year, for a couple of days.
