Crowdfunding Campaign Updates

A big thank you to all PURR crowdfunding backers and promoters.

With a week left on the Indiegogo crowd fundraiser, we have reached our first goal of $10,000 to fund the The Gate of Interdimensional Transit! The gate and front fence provide security and privacy for our community to host events and activities. It is also a cool art piece, a needed splash of color to the PNW as you drive down Highway 101.

As we head down the home stretch for this campaign, we most likely will not meet the larger goal of $50K. However we do have a plan going forward. After the campaign ends on Indiegogo, we will continue it on our website at www.prancingunicorn.org We are in it for the long haul, and are committed to developing PURR into the best damn campground/clubhouse/venue for our community.

Project oriented fundraisers and Organization

We will do fundraisers by the project instead of lumping everything up in one number. Projects will have their own profile webpage, detailing 1) why they are important 2) what's needed 3) team and how you can help and 4) production schedule. This profile page will be accessible to our members. Part of the appeal of PURR is the share construction of our clubhouse, and with this set up, you can decide to assist in the areas that interest you most, and have some influence in the direction of PURR's development.

In the new cycle of fundraising, we will be shuffling and reprioritizing various projects and adding new ones. The goal is to start doing the things we can do now and not get bottled neck on projects while waiting for funding.

PURRADOME

In light of this new approach, I present the PURRADOME. It's an easy to do project that can be completed in the next couple of months and will have immediate and tangible use.

It’s a biodome, with multi use: a greenhouse, a hot tub housing, a healing sanctuary for body work, hot yoga and meditation, and finally a light therapy pod.

This is inspired by the warm, lush, and healing experience at a yoga retreat on the Big Island of Hawaii, and I want to bring a microcosm of tropical paradise to PURR.

Having lived in the PNW for a year now, I’m sensing SAD (seasonal affective disorder) is a real thing. My intention is to provide our members with a respite from the wet cold and gloomy weather, in a relaxing, nurturing, and healing space where you can bathe naked in either water, steam or light in the middle of winter. And it’s accessible 24/7 at PURR for our members to use and get some R&R.

We already have:

1. a dome structure

2. a hot tub

3. location close to water and electricity

What we need:

1. Fabricate and assemble greenhouse panels onto the structure - $500

2. Construct a deck, with raised garden beds, and PVC planters - $500

3. Install lights, fans, and heat source - $500

To top it off, we will film the process and show you how to construct your own healing dome in your backyard for under $2000 (as some of the materials are upcycle).

Monthly Burn Week

Immediately after the Indiegogo campaign, we will start blocking off a week during every month where members can camp for free (during covid). If you need some fresh air, come out to PURR to relax and hang out. Build parties will happen during these monthly Burn Weeks as well.

Commitment to the Fam

I'm committed to have PURR be available for our members as a sanctuary to reset, heal and play. We are starting out small, and that's a good thing as it's important to me to provide personal attention to our Prancing Unicorn fam.

From my Burning Man experience, the best years and interactions are with my immediate burn fam who is always there for support and play. I want you to feel that you are supported and I have your back, whether you need a friend or infrastructure to host an event.

One of my greatest joy is seeing and witnessing people and friends grow and flourish in whatever they do.

If you have ideas for post-COVID events or during COVID (within social distancing guidelines), I want to hear about it. Let's project and give life to a more favorable future. Plant the seed now so if may germinate coming spring or summer.
