Love Lab Play Principles

1. Civic Responsibility – Please do NOT enter into either side of a consent negotiation (giving or receiving) if you are not sober enough to consent.

 

2. Verbal Consent is necessary whenever you enter someone’s physical or energetic space. Consent is always needed when you want to touch, hug, watch others and pleasure yourself, fuck, share energy, etc.

 

3. Orientation: You must attend orientation before you can participate in the Love Lab. Please make every effort to attend it live (see schedule for time). Once you attend a Love Lab orientation you do not have to go again. Orientation is a way for us all to be on the same page about the event and how it works and to co-create a safer space to explore love. It will be a fun, interactive workshop on consent and you’ll be learning the best ice breaker at the event: the 5-minute game. You can use this game to meet new people all night like this: “Wanna play the 5-minute game?”. If you cannot make it to the live orientation, please contact us and we can find an alternative way to get you this info, but please make every effort to try to do it in person.

 

4. Radical Participation – You’ll get the most out of this event if you participate. This kind of event is rare and it might just pass you by if you let it. Everyone is invited to participate consensually.

 

5. If you make a mess, clean it up. Especially during sexual play. Please no bare bums on furniture. Bring your own towel to sit on. Be aware of your fluids and where they go. Your mother doesn’t work here… and you wouldn’t want her cleaning that up either. Ask if you need help.

 

6. Communal Effort – If someone is bothering you, most of the time they will stop when you ask. If someone asks you to stop something please stop. Ask for help from anyone if you need it. You can also always go to the Sanctuary for additional help (located on the second floor in the sewing area). The Consentaurs are here if you need anything. We ask that you report any sketchy behavior (even if you don’t need help) so that we may protect this space for future explorations of love. Too often in society things go unsaid, and that stops here.

 

7. Radical Self Reliance – Bring what you need. Towels, yoga mats, toys, costumes, rope, etc. If you use anything at PURR put it back before you leave. Throw trash in the cans. Clean your own dishes. Respect the land.

 

8. Sex Positive Spaces – Sexuality and sexual exploration are encouraged at the Love Lab, but certainly not necessary. To keep it a sanitary experience we ask that explicit sex acts be kept to the red districts. They will be marked. PDA and nudity are welcome in all of PURR. All are welcome to participate in the space consensually. Understand that it is a public space so people will likely be watching. We ask that if it is your desire to pleasure yourself solely from watching others that you ask consent before starting. It’s fine to masturbate in these areas, but we want to make the distinction between solo masturbation in the red district and deriving your pleasure from watching others and pleasuring yourself. Ask Lona for further explanation if needed.

Love Lab events are not “sex parties”. We do not organize and schedule orgies. We seek to curate an integrated experience to pleasure all your senses (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) in a fun, safer “sex positive space”. Consensual sexual activities and connections may happen at our retreats as any other campout events. You do not need to have a partner to enjoy our event as we seek to provide spaces that cater to individuals, couples and groups.

 

What is a “Sex Positive Space”?

 

Within the container defined by Love Lab Play Principles, our events treat sex, sexual desires, expressions and connections as natural and beautiful extensions of ourselves. We are not ashamed to celebrate and take pleasures in these aspects of being.

 

To maintain a safer “sex positive space”, we require all attendees to follow the Love Lab Play Principles when interacting with each other. Respect other people’s personal spaces and expressions and ask for and receive clear approval before engaging in conversations, contact or intimate interactions.

 

Please do not attend this event if you are offended or triggered by public display of affection (pda), nudity, and explicit consensual sex acts in shared spaces.

 

While pda and nudity are welcome in all areas of PURR, due to sanitary reasons, explicit sex activities are limited to the labeled “red district” spaces and your private sleeping areas.

 

Intoxication and Substance Policy

 

This is NOT the event to get LOST or WASTED in substances. Maintaining a safer sex positive space requires all attendees to be consciously present to ask for and give consent. Moderated use of substances to aid in your experience is acceptable. Reckless substance abuse and intoxication to the point where you are incapacitated or unable to clearly communicate or recognize personal boundaries will result in being banned from our events.

Accident & Liability Waiver

 

I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING IN ANY/ALL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH The Prancing Unicorn Resort and Recreation L.L.C., referred herein as PURR, located at 741 SE Craig St, Shelton, WA, 98584 including by way of example and not limited to, any risks from contracting COVID-19 virus, any risks caused by an act of god such as extreme weather, as well as any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault.

I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently prepared or trained for participation in this activity, and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude my participation in this activity. I also certify that I don't show any COVID-19 symptoms the last 14 days.

I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the activity in which I may participate, and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said activity.

In consideration of my application and permitting me to come onto PURR property, I hereby take action for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns as follows:

​

(A) I WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for my death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from this activity, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: The Prancing Unicorn Resort & Recreation L.L.C., (PURR) and/or their owner, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers;

(B) INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE the entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise.

I acknowledge that PURR and their owner, directors, officers, volunteers, representatives, and agents are NOT responsible for the errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific activity on their behalf.

I acknowledge that my presence on PURR property may involve a test of a person's physical and mental limits and carries with it the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks include, but are not limited to, those caused by terrain, facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, lack of hydration, and actions of other people including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, monitors, and/or producers of the activity. These risks are not only inherent to participants, but are also present for volunteers.

I hereby consent to receive medical treatment, which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this activity.

I understand PURR is not responsible for my personal property and agree to release PURR from all liability for any damage or stolen property.

I understand while on PURR property, I may be photographed. I agree to allow my photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the activity holders, producers, sponsors, organizers, and assigns. Photos of minors will be under the permission/consent of parents or guardians.

In the company of minors whom I am the legal guardian, I take full responsibility for their actions and WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of the entities or persons released, for the minor's death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including my traveling to and from this activity, THE FOLLOWING ENTITIES OR PERSONS: The Prancing Unicorn Resort & Recreation L.L.C., (PURR) and/or their owner, directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents, and the activity holders, sponsors, and volunteers;

The Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law.

I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT. I AM AWARE THAT THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND A CONTRACT AND I AGREE BY ITS TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ADMITTANCE ON PURR PROPERTY.
