Before journeying out into the great unknown (aka renegade burn at Black Rock Desert, virtual burn, any local events during burn week), be sure to drop by the PURR Stop to load up on supplies and prime your spaceship for the grand blast off. Meet, greet and mingle with fellow travelers. Find a guide. Arrange for rides. Recruit campmates. Test out your gears.

It’s also a perfect spot to match wit with some of the snarkiest ponies in the galaxy and see if you've got what it takes to be an explorer of the great unknown. Whether you are going or staying, it’s always a great time at the PURR Stop!

Cosmic Swap Meet Campout

Calling all cosmic swappers, space junkies, and bootie hunters!

Got unused gears, outfits, swag rusting away in your storage.  Got pent up ideas, energy, love, art, music you desire to share.  Bring them to the Cosmic Swap Meet @ the PURR Stop!  Pitch tent, set up your booth and display your goods and services on the Sparkly Way.  Share, swap, gift, participate, connect, make friends and allies during a 3 days and 2 nights campout.

Take a stroll around the Sparkly Way and you will mostly like discover that thing that you may not even know you are looking for.  The Cosmic Swap Meet is a great place to gather your gears, find your next a great adventure, and level up your festival game.

Notes and Disclaimer: The Cosmic Swap Meet is a theme of an event.  The currency is gifts, energy and love.  There is no monetary exchange. As participation is paramount, every camp is required to have a display of at least one item or service for swapping. Spaceport authorities will make their rounds to check up on your set up, and give out merit stars and trophies for best display.    There will be access to power at the campsites so bring lights/toys and glamorize your space if you want to attract space traffic to your camp.

Trade Guilds (theme camps - group campsites)

We will reserve several large campsites for groups of 8 to 15 people.  Theme camps must offer some kind of gifts, services or experiences (i.e. chill space, yoga workshop, healing, tea, body paint, snacks, drinks, etc.) Prime real estate placement on the Sparkly Way.

Assemble your crew and apply for placement.

Note: If you are an existing big burning man camp, think of this as sending a delegation to a convention to have presence and representation.  Do not bring your entire camping infrastructure.  Group camping sites can accommodate an RV, a couple of vehicle camping and several tents at most.   Make sure your stuff can fit in a 50ft x 50ft space.

Privateer Lot (individual tent camping)

The Han Solos of the galaxy can find their niche in the Privateer Lot, which is reserved for tent camping.  No application necessary.  Just register for a camping pass.

All campers, whether guild members or a privateer, must register for a camping pass.

Pre-burn Party!

Saturday

August 7, 3pm til August 8, 3pm

Don’t have time to attend the entire event or couldn’t get a camping pass.  No worries!  There is still the pre burn party Saturday evening.

The PURR Stop Space Station will be buzzing and throttling all night long with a lineup of local DJ favorites.  Dial in and prime yourself for a good time.  Don’t need to be camping to attend the party.

We will have crash pads available for you to pass out if you can’t make it til morning.

Ticket Details:

1) General Camping & Pre-Burn Party - tent or vehicle camping (cars, vans, suvs, shorter than 20 feet).   Early Entry 6pm Thursday 8/5 .  Regular entry noon Friday 8/6. 

2) SOLD OUT - RV Camping & Pre-Burn Party - (Vehicles longer than 20ft, RVs, trailers with electric and water hookup) Early Entry 6pm Thursday 8/5 .  Regular entry Noon Friday 8/6. 

3) Pre-Burn Party - Saturday 3 pm entry. No camping.  We will have crash pads for you to pass out.

4) Parking Pass - Parking is limited and to encourage car pooling, all vehicles (except for RV and vehicle camping) will need a parking pass.
